What’s in it for me?

Virtual Educa, a highly prestigious international conference dedicated to analyzing the impact of new technologies and e-learning on education and training, wil offer educators and business leaders access to global experts from fifty different countries when the conference opens for the first time in the United States. This gathering in June 2003 will feature exhibits and presentations on education, training and new technologies, while providing a strategic opportunity to network with collegues from universities, international organizations and other key players in technology-supported education and training. Virtual Educa mantains a defined Latin American and European focus, creating a unique trilateral encounter space among the US, Latin-America and the European Union.

How may I submit a proposal?

Please send your proposal to ponencias@virtualeduca.org, together with a completed presenter’s form that you may download from www.virtualeduca.org/virtual/index03.htm (Call for Papers). The deadline for proposals is March 31, 2003.

What do I have to do to participate?

Please complete the registration form (download it from www.virtualeduca.org/virtual/index03.htm - Registration) and send it by fax to the Institute of Advanced Studies for the Americas, fax number +(1) 305-448-6579. Do not forget to include your credit card information and signature on the registration form.

What are the costs involved?

For individuals, $175 ($200 after May 1st 2003). For institutions, $750 ($850 after May 1st 2003) . The individual registration includes participation in the Conference, Conference documentation and abstracts, free access to the exhibition area and certificate of participation. The institutional registration includes up to 4 registered individuals, free participation for them in one of several state-of-the art seminars on June 17, a networking luncheon, etc. Please check the appliciation form information.

Which companies will exhibit in Virtual Educa?

  • Companies specializing in software creation, providers of online services, and training platforms
  • Telecommunications companies
  • Publishing companies, distance education content designers
  • Universities, virtual campuses (universities, training centers), educational portals
  • Public institutions and international organizations working in distance education, training, and professional development

Will I have the opportunity of meeting collegues from around the US, Latinamerica and Europe? Will I be able to talk with multilateral organizations and Government representatives?

Yes. Virtual Educa is a meeting point for: a) governments; b) universities; c) companies; d) local organizations. Because the City of Miami is considered the Capital of the Americas due to its strategic location, Virtual Educa 2003 will make it possible for many experts from the Hemisphere to attend.

Which activities will Virtual Educa include?

Workshops (June 18). Plenary and concurrent sessions; presentations of projects, products and services; round tables (June 19-20). Furthermore:

  • II Transatlantic Cooperation Seminar between the US, European Union and Latin America on Technology and Education.
  • II Meeting of University Delegates from The Americas and the European Union.
  • Round table on e-Books (Publishing Companies).
  • Seminar on 'Technology for the School Environment' (June 17)*.
  • Seminar on 'Virtual Platforms for Higher Education' (June 17)*.
  • Seminar on 'Multilingual Education and New Technologies' (June 18).
