CONSORCIO DE UNIVERSIDADES DE LA OEA
La finalidad de esta sección es la de proveer un listado de las universidades que forman parte del Consorcio de Universidades de la OEA para guiar a los postulantes a maximizar sus oportunidades de beca, proveer una clara idea de los términos y condiciones de una beca Colocada por la OEA, así como lo que los postulantes pueden esperar si son seleccionados para una beca Colocada por la OEA.
- En los próximos años, el Programa de Becas de Estudios Académicos de la OEA negociará más colocaciones (admisiones) para becarios en universidades e instituciones de Estudios Superiores que tengan Acuerdos de Cooperación con la OEA o con una agencia externa especializada en servicios de colocación (admisión).
- De esta manera, será reducido el número de becas concedidas a estudiantes que hayan obtenido su admisión por su cuenta en instituciones de Estudios Superiores que no sean parte de del Consorcio de Universidades de la OEA.
- En la modalidad de beca Colocada por la OEA, los candidatos no postulan directamente a las universidades o institutos educativos. En su lugar, los candidatos postulan únicamente a una beca de la OEA. La OEA gestiona la colocación para los candidatos seleccionados en las universidades o instituciones educativas identificadas por la OEA en los Estados Miembros, teniendo en consideración los países de preferencia y los campos de estudio propuestos, así como el nivel de estudios indicados por los candidatos en su solicitud de beca.
- La OEA no garantiza que los becarios serán colocados en las universidades en las que ellos han mostrado interés, ya que la OEA debe tomar en consideración otros factores como distribución geográfica, presupuesto disponible, mérito académico del becario y el procedimiento de admisión de la universidad, por mencionar algunos.
- La OEA garantiza que hará su mayor esfuerzo por tomar en consideración las metas educativas del becario, sus méritos académicos así como su campo propuesto de estudio y especialización al negociar su admisión.
- Las becas de la OEA son de naturaleza complementaria. Los fondos provistos por la OEA tienen la intención de servir como un complemento a los fondos que el becario pueda haber obtenido por otras fuentes, o para asistir al becario con costos generales para hacer posible la culminación de sus estudios.
- El monto máximo otorgado (matrícula y beneficios) no excederá los US$ 30,000.00 por año académico, lo que incluye matrícula, tasas obligatorias, asignación anual por libros, gastos de subsistencia mensual, seguro de salud y costos administrativos.
- Las becas de la OEA son otorgadas por períodos que no excedan dos años académicos.
