1. How can countries conduct and implement sustainable and long term institutional changes to secure competitiveness while assuring the sustainability of the natural resources?
Government
should make laws that will abide all these naturall resources to make sure
that they are normally used when needed.
Countries can
conduct and implement sustainable and long term institutional changes to secure
competitiveness while assuring the sustainability of the natural resources
by incorporating more programs that allow local farmers and agricultural producers
incentives for collaborating and ensuring safe production and agro-economic
practices that ensure that the natural resources are continually useful. Such
policies can include a viable crop rotation strategy and also a consistent
grading and structuring of land to allow efficient production and development
of natural resources.

2. How can we incorporate the small holder farmers, including family farmers, to dynamic markets (locally, regionally or internationally) and to the value chains?
We
can incorporate the small holder farmers, including family farmers, to dynamic
markets (locally, regionally or internationally) by allowing government to
provide them with the necessary loans and infrastructures that will allow
them to produce quality food products that can compete with other foreign
food products. The Loans can be beneficial to small scale farmers as they
will be provided with the necessary financial assistance that will be geared
at assisting them to effectively produce quality products for local consumers
as well as for the International market. Also, irrigation policies and training
seminars can help the small farmers to gain a vast knowledge on new trends
in farming and help them to become a more competitive force in the economy.
Relevant to note as well, is the implementation of government policies that
would allow small scale farmers, and family farmers to be included in government
development strategies that would allow them to promote their local products
to the overseas market for exportation by providing local magazines that expose
Caribbean food products and the benefits that are derived from Naturally produced
foods as opposed to organic produced crops.
